hondo day 4 and 5

Day four was a crazy day of travel. We barely took any pictures because we were just traveling all day long.   We woke up at 5:30, left the hotel around 6:15, drove a few hours to San Pedro Sula where we drove to the airport, dropped off the rental car at the airport, bought tickets for a charter bus, waited at the airport for an hour and a half, hopped on a charter bus to La Ceiba, charter bus broke down 10 minutes away from the airport, sat at a stoplight for half an hour while the bus driver fixed the problem with a mechanic from a gas station, bus station pit stop in Tela, finally got to La Ceiba a little after 2, hopped into a taxi, went to the marina, bought tickets for the ferry, waited 2 hours until the ferry left, rode the ferry to Roatan for an hour and a half, hopped in another taxi that took us to our hotel. Phew! By the time we checked into our hotel, dropped off our luggage in our room, it was around 8 when we went to grab dinner on the beach.  Talk about a busy day!  We were exhausted by the end of the day but it was definitely an adventure roadtripping across the country!
baleada #100 of the trip
quick lunch on the bus
also the best baleada of the entire vacation - it came from a baleada fast food place in the airport!

see ya later ceiba!
The ferry ride was definitely entertaining.  The water was kind of choppy and the ride was pretty long, so people started puking left and right!  The ferry had a "puke crew." A handful of people who worked on the ferry were in charge of passing out barf bags and paper towels, and helping people who got sick.  There was a lady sitting two rows in front of us who was sick the entire time.  People were running to the bathroom and hunched over trash bags.  I don't get sea sick but I do throw up if I watch other people throw up.  I just tried to keep my eyes on the water and we were good to go!  Houston kept giving me updates on everybody else!

The next morning Houston woke me up to come see the water.  It is absolutely gorgeous!  The water is so clear you can see fish swimming around and the reef started just a few feet off of the beach.  You could just swim out to it and see the coral and a ton of fish.
I was in heaven

We loved our hotel.  The room was like a little condo (you can actually buy individual condos for personal use) and the package we purchased included breakfast every morning, kayaks, water taxi rides, and a zip line excursion.  The hotel felt kind of like a cruise ship with excursion packages, activity directors, buffets, and entertainment.  I would go back in a heartbeat!
This day we just relaxed after a whirlwind cross-country tour.  We just walked around the resort, relaxed on the beach, went kayaking, and watched the rain for a little bit.  The first two days we were there it rained early in the morning and around lunch time but the rest of the time it was perfect.  Even the rain was kind of fun!
