end of an era

Houston is FINALLY done with the Texas Bar Exam!!! Well, assuming he passed it.  *fingers crossed*  I'll be honest, the last few months have been hard for all of us.  Houston has been studying like crazy, getting home at 2 or 3 in the morning and being a super grump because he was so stressed.  Elaina has missed her daddy and let's be honest, has gotten a little tired of just me all the time.  And, I am one exhausted "single" mama.  But, Houston took the test Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.  He and our friend Josh stayed in a hotel downtown, across the street from the convention center where they were taking the test. They were able to just walk over to take the test, which was great.  

Most days Houston would go study at the U of H Library by our house until they kicked him out at 9 or 10 and then he would go to Denny's for a few more hours.  All the overnight waiters and waitresses at Denny's loved him.  He would come home and tell me all about their life stories and he promised he would come in and say hi again after the exam was over.  There were a few times Elaina and I brought Houston dinner at the library just to be able to see him for a little bit that day.  I think we are all excited for the bar to be over and for us to be able to be a little family again!
