birthday week.

Julie turned 25 this month and had quite the week of celebration. ;) Kicked off birthday week with family dinner on Sunday.  I love having family dinners on Sundays.  I know it's a lot of work to feed so many people, but I am so grateful that Nana and Papi are willing to do it.  I love that the cousins get to spend time with each other and I hope it's something they can grow up remembering and looking forward to.  They already have so much fun together.

After dinner we took the kiddos on a little bike ride around the neighborhood.  Austin was so cute keeping up with us on his little bike.

After dinner and a bike ride we had cake and presents.  Austin was so excited about his mama's birthday.  He made her a special present complete with rainbow. :)

Then on Wednesday we had a girls night for the birthday girl at none other than Pappasitos.  We even got serenaded by the musicians, including feliz cumpleanos and las mananitas.  I think I may have been the only one at the table who knew what they were singing and poor guys made it really awkward waiting around the table for a tip.

Then to top it all off, Nick sent Julie and I on a mini vacay to San Marcos and Austin.  Love me a good shopping trip, so thanks Nick!  After a late start, we drove to San Marcos to get some shopping in and spent a little over 2 hours in the Pottery Barn outlet alone! It was amazing.  Then we drove to Austin to check into our hotel and meet up for some friends for dinner.  We went to Z Tejas for the first time.  I had seen it in Salt Lake before but I had never been.  Dinner was definitely delicious.  Then we hit up some always delicious Amy's Ice Cream for dessert.

After dinner and dessert we headed back to the hotel.  We tried going hot tubbing but the pool had caution tape all around it, so we nixed that idea. Naturally.  I was a little bummed because hot tubbing sounded like a fantastic idea!  But, I got over it, and we started the next day off with a bang.  You can't beat a chickfila chicken biscuit for breakfast!  We filled up on chicky, drove to the outlets again and shopped til we dropped. We were there for about 6 or 7 hours, then decided that it wouldn't be a decent girls trip without a stop at Target as well.  We perused Target with Diet Coke, popcorn, and no kids.  It was a glorious end to a great weekend!  Not to mention, the San Marcos Target was very well stocked.

Happy Birthday Julie!  Hope you had a fantastic birthday, felt loved and special (because you are), and tell Nick thanks because I definitely enjoyed your birthday too :)
