It's Birthday Week :)

Well, it was birthday week! Yes, I became another year older and we had a ton of fun celebrating it! The night before my birthday Houston and I went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Yum! On the way up there we stopped at Tai Pan, since it was on the way, because I usually can't get Houston to accompany me to a home decorating store so "it's my birthday" was my excuse! If you haven't been to Tai Pan yet, go! It's so much fun, it's huge, and full of cool stuff for your house, and it's not very expensive. I bought a nativity set (yes I'm already thinking about Christmas decor) and it was only 15 bucks! Talk about a sweet deal. After Tai Pan, dinner was delish and so was dessert. I was a little dissappointed that they just discontinued my favorite cheesecake, but the one we picked out was still great!

My hubs being a goof, as usual

My typical, I have to take a picture of the food, photo :) I think I get it from my dad

Then on my actual birthday, Houston woke up and wanted to make me breakfast. He was surprised at my breakfast request, usually it's french toast, but for some reason I wanted pancakes so that's what he made! I'm lucky to have a husband who is an awesome cook, I know my kids won't starve if I'm not around for some reason!

Houston made me awesome pancakes and then got tired of cooking so he just used up all the batter and made himself one giant pancake! Look he's so proud :)

Harley wanted to give me some birthday love

My birthday wish was to go to the temple together. We hadn't been in quite a while so it was fun to be able to get dressed up and enjoy going as a couple. Every time I get to go to the temple I leave with so much gratitude for the knowledge I have of a loving Savior and the purpose of this life. That knowledge actually makes life worth living, it can make life fun, even through the hard times.

Later that night, since I love making s'mores, that's what we did! We set up our fire pit in a little area down our street and bunch of our friends came to enjoy some s'mores with us! Maybe next time Shane will have to give us all some s'more pointers with his fondue sticks and skillet! And Barrett might NOT want to give us pointers with his flaming stick of marshmallows! :) Thanks everyone for spending time with me on my birthday, I had a great time!

Some of the crew...Barrett, Jeanine, Shane, Shara, HolliJo, Kevin, Ryan, Forrest, Me, Vanessa is hiding, and Ben!

It's us, again

Vanessa and Ben

Ryan, HolliJo, and Kevin

Barrett and Jeanine...oh, and Shane too

After everybody left and before we went to sleep, Houston lit all the candles on my cake and sang Happy Birthday to me all by himself. It may sound kind of cheesy, but it was pretty cute!
