Janine and Andre's Wedding

i thought i would post a little more about what we did on vacation so here goes...
while we were in texas, houston's friend from high school was getting married in austin. she and her fiance (at the time) traveled to our wedding so we thought we would return the favor and do the same. i didn't get a chance to take very many pictures but the ceremony was really beautiful and it was fun for houston to catch up with some of his friends from high school who were there too! we drove up to austin early in the afternoon and spent a few hours walking around downtown austin, checking out the capitol and UT's campus. it was really hot that day but we had a good time. we also got a chance to drive by my grandparents old house. they lived in austin forever and then as they got older my dad and my uncle thought it would be better for them to live closer to us so they moved down to houston when i was in high school. i love having them close by but their house just doesn't feel the same. there is just something about an old house with old decor (like their very seventies avocado green counter in the kitchen!) that makes it feel like grandma's! the people who live there now painted it so i barely recognized it but it was fun and i got a kick out of driving around the old neighborhood. all in all, it was a great little day trip and we were really glad to be able to share in janine and andre's special day!!

checking out the capitol before we headed off to the wedding
st. austin's catholic church in downtown austin. it may look a little old from the outside but it is an austin classic! i remember going there for easter mass once when i was little. houston and i thought it was cool that the institute building was right across the street too!houston got upset that i was taking pictures during the ceremony, but the priest said no FLASH photography! and hey, i only did it after the lady across the aisle did it first! ;)their first dance. i didn't get a great picture of her dress but i LOVED it!houston with all his band buddies!
